How 90-day reporting works

Foreigners staying in Thailand for more than 90 days in a row must tell Immigration where they live every 90 days. This is separate from your visa or extension, and it does not extend your stay.

  1. Your first report after arriving must be made in person at your local immigration office, with your passport and the TM47 form.
  2. Later reports can be filed online at the official TM47 site from 15 days before the due date.
  3. You can still report in person up to 7 days after the due date. After that, a 2,000 THB fine applies.

Frequently asked questions

When is my first 90-day report due?

The day you arrive counts as day 1, so your first report is due on day 90, which is 89 days after your arrival date. Leaving Thailand resets the count.

How early or late can I file?

You can file from 15 days before the due date until 7 days after it. Some provincial immigration offices only accept in-person reports in a shorter window, so check with yours.

Can I do the 90-day report online?

Yes, after your first report. The first report after arriving must be done in person. Later reports can be filed on the official TM47 website from 15 days before the due date. Overdue reports cannot be filed online.

What is the fine for a late 90-day report?

2,000 THB if you report late. If you are caught never having reported, the fine can be up to 5,000 THB plus up to 200 THB per day.

Is the next due date counted from when I filed or from the old due date?

From the day you filed. The next due date is printed on the receipt you receive, and that printed date is the one to follow.
